City streets are filled with photo opportunities if you know the best ways to find and capture them. Nick Gervin delivered presentation on how to get started in the art of street photography.  

Gervin is a professional photographer who is the current President of the Bakery Photo Collective in Portland, which offers photography workshops for budding photographers.  Gervin’s photographic prowess extends beyond local borders, with his works gracing the pages of esteemed publications such as Street Photography 2015, Ain’t-Bad, and Eyeshot magazines, as well as the The Huffington Post and The Washington Post newspapers. His debut monograph, “PORTLANDERS,” published by Photo Editions Ltd in November of 2022, stands as a testament to his unique vision and his struggles with recovery from two traumatic brain injuries. Nick remains dedicated to his ongoing long term photographic projects like “American Cemetery,” “Autographs,” and his “State of Maine” series, demonstrating his enduring commitment to capturing the essence of life here in Maine and Portland specifically.  To learn more about his photography, check out his website: https://nickgervin.com/.
