Independent filmmaker David Westphal spoke at our April meeting. David’s films include “Spirits of the Polar Night” about the aurora borealis’; “So We Shall Stand and Fight,” a film about Passamaquoddy Native American land claims; a documentary about the ancient Iranian city of Isfahan; and “Shinto: Nature, Gods, and Man in Japan ” about the Shinto religion. David is also a fine art photographer who has seen and photographed wondrous things in faraway places.
