Bob Thayer was our speaker and the title of his presentation was “In Defense of the Slide Show”. Bob shared with us his tips for making extraordinary digital slide shows, set to music or narration.

Born and raised in Bangor, Bob taught science for 30 years in Massachusetts and in the summer worked as a seasonal Park Ranger Naturalist at Acadia for 38 years.  During all of that time Photography has been an avocation and eventually a second career.

Bob has written several books on the park (The Park Loop Road, Beyond the Park Loop Road and Acadia’s Carriage Roads).  He has contributed many of his images for use in the park and developed evening programs that were shown at the campgrounds. Most of his multimedia programs today center around his travels and each year he produces a Calendar of Acadia images.
